Reflect and Refocus
Reflective Meditation App
Introduction
We worked closely with the founder to ensure the very restrictive budget was able to cover all core features for an MVP. After rigorous exploration into the feature list, we built an MVP that encompassed a responsive web app, containing CMSable contents, in addition to a built in payment provider. This was a bootstrap project that ensured every penny spent was used to maximum effect.

The Client
Reflect and Refocus is the business of Ruth Hughes, a qualified complimentary therapist who runs workshops and events on reflective meditation. As her business grew and client demand increased, Ruth had the dream of creating the Spotify for reflective meditation, ‘Reflect and Refocus’. Ruth worked with Deazy to develop this exciting digital product as a wep app MVP, offering reflective meditations to buy, download and listen to in the browser.
Before Deazy
Ruth needed the perfect combination of creative design and technical expertise to make her vision a reality. Through a mixture of email and Skype calls, Deazy understood her requirements and supported her in prioritising the right features for the initial phase of the project, the Minimum Viable Product (MVP).
With a tight budget to work to, Deazy helped Ruth make technology decisions and cut costs by customising existing off-the-shelf technology and delivering over a longer time frame. As a small business with limited resource, Ruth felt like she was provided with a team. “They were valuable for me because they pulled in the people I needed and built a team for my project around what I was trying to create,” she says.

“They don’t do the bare minimum. They take it that one step further with helpful suggestions, whether it was the colour scheme or the layout. That has been really lovely.”
Standing on the shoulders of giants
New to the digital space and running her business at the same time, Ruth appreciated being able to handle all communications through her project manager who was very contactable. ”Communication was simple and impactful, but at the same time I felt part of a network of the right people. I felt I had a whole team behind me in the development of the project.” she adds.
Deazy’s product management experience and expertise supported Ruth to make the right decisions on technology and prioritisation and the result is a workable digital product with a new look and feel for Ruth’s business. Now the wep app is live, Ruth can validate her commercial model and test her product experience for future growth.
